About the Role
BELFOR Project Managers are industry experts with either a restoration or construction focus, serving as key resources for large, complex, and high-risk projects. They are integral to BELFOR's Cat teams during regionalized damage recovery efforts and have the opportunity to become estimators.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate thorough understanding of all BELFOR service lines.
- For the construction track, understand scope, schedule work, communicate professionally, ensure project safety, and maintain quality control.
- Establish core project management capabilities including time management, budgeting, scheduling, site supervision, customer contact, communication, quality control, safety, documentation, and change orders.
- Continuously advance knowledge of current and past construction practices.
- Review daily project requirements, document progress, and notify managers of progress and challenges.
- Provide appropriate field documentation, photo logs, graphs, and sketches for TPA projects.
- Perform all skills related to prior Advanced Fire Damage Specialist, Advanced Water Damage Specialist, and Advanced Carpenter roles.
- Become proficient in qualifying vendors and subcontractors, guiding them through the qualification process.
- Manage fixed bid projects and rate and material projects.
- Demonstrate thorough understanding of BELFOR invoicing for various project types and provide necessary documentation.
- Perform daily vehicle safety and maintenance inspections, maintaining clean and serviceable condition.
- Maintain attention to detail.
- Safeguard other people's property according to BELFOR Standards.
- Possess a comprehensive understanding of customer service principles and practices.
- Work under time constraints to meet specific timelines.
- Work nights and weekends as requested and travel periodically.
- Report time worked and equipment and consumables used timely and accurately.
- Attend BELFOR sponsored operations and safety training courses as required.
Requirements
- Assist other PMs and Senior PMs.
- Volunteer for CAT duty as possible.
- Advance knowledge of technical services (Restoration track) and building codes and regulations (Construction Track).
- Serve as role models for Superintendents.
- Sell and upgrade additional services on assigned projects.
- Communicate daily with Estimators on project status, timeline adjustments, or issues.
- Continually improve core project management skills.
- Continue training until projects are completed on time and on budget with documented customer satisfaction.
- For construction focus: plan, coordinate, and oversee employees and subcontractors in all phases of work, read and manage blueprints, manage projects exceeding $1M, and understand and adhere to local building codes and regulatory agencies.
- For restoration focus: direct small crews of BELFOR personnel and temporary workers, manage projects exceeding $1M.
- Attend BELFOR approved training courses in areas of lesser experience.
- Manage large crews and projects through crew leaders and assistants.
- Manage and document rate and material projects and collaborate with PMs or Estimators on restoration plans.
- Supervise multiple crews simultaneously on multiple projects.
