About the Role
Providing leadership, management, and development of a defined team to ensure operational commitments are met and exceeded. This role requires close liaison with employees, clients, and internal senior managers, focusing on proactive operations to achieve total customer satisfaction while meeting operational and fiscal plans.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the Health & Safety of sites and engineers.
- Act as on-site HV and LV Authorised Person when qualified and on shift.
- Proactively check the operation of the Permit to Work system in accordance with BGIS Quality, Health & Safety procedures and client requirements, especially regarding sub-contractors' adherence to RAMS.
- Proactively check the operation of the LOTO system in accordance with BGIS Quality, Health & Safety procedures and client requirements.
- Ensure sub-contractors meet contract requirements by administering work approvals and safe operations during repairs or services.
- Undertake other tasks as defined and requested by site management.
- Undertake annual appraisals of shift technicians after completing BGIS Appraisal and Development training.
- Ensure awareness and compliance with contractual KPIs/SLAs.
- Maintain up-to-date Computer Based Maintenance systems (e.g., Maximo, Concept) and ensure accurate data capture for PPM and reactive tickets.
- Collaborate with the Area Contract Manager to maintain consistently high service levels.
- Support the Contract Support in achieving high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Responsible for the Statutory & Code compliance of sites and ensuring engineers are fully equipped.
- Plan PPM schedules for sites to ensure an even workload in conjunction with the Area Contract Manager.
- Ensure PPM is carried out in accordance with manufacturer's guidelines.
- Responsible for the return of PPM and work-related documentation.
- Manage Day Engineers and Shift team members.
- Ensure all sites have accurate asset registers and are labelled accordingly.
- Responsible for the fast and effective procurement of materials and services.
- Proactively source additional works and raise quotations.
- Provide technical support to engineers, helpdesk, and clients.
- Investigate and report on major Operational incidents.
- Ensure all callouts are attended to in conjunction with the helpdesk.
- Promote H&S culture across the whole team.
- Assist engineers carrying out PPM as required and ensure regular communication with the engineering team.
- Ensure weekly tasks are completed and assist the site manager in producing reports on delivery.
- Ensure customer service levels are maintained.
- Ensure uniforms are worn and in good condition.
- Ensure all 3rd party contract works have been carried out.
- Attend all statutory works to understand their conduct and provide feedback.
- Escalate quoted works not approved by FM that could have a business impact.
- Serve as the first point of contact for all in-hour shift issues and concerns.
- Serve as the first point of contact on the escalation path for all mechanical incidents.
- Responsible for the production and distribution of a weekly report in conjunction with the Area Contract Manager.
- Carry out any reasonable management request.
