About the Role
As an Indigenous Student Success Officer, you will play a pivotal role in fostering trusted, enduring relationships between Western Sydney University and Indigenous Australian communities. This position is central to delivering culturally safe, strengths-based support to Indigenous students throughout their academic journey.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong, respectful relationships with Indigenous Elders and communities.
- Provide culturally safe, holistic advice and support to Indigenous students.
- Organise and contribute to culturally appropriate student-focused events and initiatives.
- Advise on policies and practices impacting Indigenous students and communities.
- Monitor and report on Indigenous support programs and initiatives.
Requirements
- Must be an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person.
- Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline with extensive professional experience.
- Strong understanding of Indigenous cultures, histories, and contemporary issues.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a complex environment.
- Must provide evidence of full-time working rights in Australia at application.

Salary/Compensations
- $97,693 – $104,713 per annum
- plus 17% Super and Leave Loading
