About the Role
The Chief Information Officer (CIO) will lead the company's internal technology, platform scalability, and enterprise systems strategy. This executive role is critical for ensuring the technology estate, security frameworks, and data infrastructure can support continued global growth and regulatory compliance. The CIO will be responsible for the company's enterprise technology landscape, including internal platforms, data infrastructure, cybersecurity, enterprise architecture, and technology operations.
Responsibilities
- Define and deliver the enterprise technology strategy to support global scale and operational efficiency.
- Ensure the technology estate supports increasing transaction volumes, international expansion and regulatory requirements.
- Lead the evolution of enterprise architecture across infrastructure, data and internal systems.
- Oversee global cloud infrastructure and platform reliability.
- Ensure scalability, resilience and performance of mission-critical systems.
- Lead infrastructure modernisation and cost optimisation initiatives.
- Own the organisation’s cybersecurity strategy and information security framework.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory and security standards including PCI DSS, FCA requirements, GDPR and global data protection frameworks, and financial services technology governance standards.
- Partner with Risk and Compliance to manage technology risk across jurisdictions.
- Lead the strategy for internal systems including ERP, CRM, data platforms and operational tooling.
- Establish robust data governance and data architecture to support reporting, analytics and operational insight.
- Ensure data accessibility and integrity across the business.
- Ensure operational stability of business-critical systems.
- Implement best practice around incident management, service reliability and performance monitoring.
- Manage vendor relationships and key technology partners.
- Build and lead a high-performing global technology operations organisation.
- Develop leadership capability across infrastructure, security, data and enterprise systems.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration and operational excellence.
Requirements
- Proven experience as CIO, CTO or senior technology executive within fintech, payments or regulated financial services.
- Experience scaling technology infrastructure in high-growth environments, ideally within PE-backed businesses.
- Strong background in cloud infrastructure, enterprise architecture and data platforms.
- Experience managing security frameworks and regulatory compliance in financial services.
- Track record of building and leading global technology teams.
- Comfortable operating at executive and board level.
- Able to balance strategic thinking with operational delivery.
- Strong stakeholder management across product, finance, compliance and commercial functions.
