About the Role

Omakase Robotics is developing the software and system infrastructure "Omakase OS" to make robots actually work in people's living spaces. We started with software, but learned that software alone is not enough for deployment in real environments. To make robots practical in environments such as hospitals, hotels, and retail, hardware, autonomous navigation, HRI, and operations must be designed as an integrated whole. Our goal is to create robots that operate in the real world, not just lab demos. We are currently working with robot platforms such as Unitree and conducting verification in real environments such as hospitals, with the long-term goal of deploying robots widely and practically at low cost in society.

Responsibilities

  • Design and prototype robot casings and mechanical parts (using 3D printers, SolidWorks/CATIA/Fusion360)
  • Transition from prototype to mass production (DFM, cost optimization, vendor selection)
  • Select, integrate, and verify motors, sensors, and actuators on actual equipment
  • Hardware QA/test design, strength calculation, and reliability verification
  • Collaborate with the software team for actual equipment testing and field verification
  • Establish manufacturing lines and manage processes (for manager roles, overall supervision)
  • Manage the supply chain for mass-produced products and handle vendor relations

Requirements

  • Practical experience in mechanical design and hardware development (manufacturing industry, automotive, industrial equipment, etc.)
  • Experience using 3D CAD tools (SolidWorks, CATIA, Fusion360, etc.)
  • Practical experience in at least one phase from prototyping to mass production
  • Experience operating actual equipment in collaboration with a team
