About the Role
EPI is building a new, proudly European payment system with Wero, our digital wallet, making sending and receiving money simple, seamless, and secure across Europe. This is a unique opportunity to be a pioneer in an innovative pan-European project, moving away from traditional financial structures.
Responsibilities
- Monitor level 1 controls, collect results, and support managers.
- Design, plan, and perform level 2 controls using a risk-driven approach.
- Monitor other level 2 controls performed by the group DPO and CISO for EPI Operations BV.
- Contribute to the continuous identification, assessment, and documentation of risks in the risk register for EPI Operations.
- Maintain Key Risk Indicators for EPI Operations.
- Define and monitor risk mitigation plans for EPI Operations.
- Contribute to risk reporting for the EPI Operations BV Supervisory Board.
- Monitor risk appetite thresholds and ensure appropriate mitigation actions are raised.
- Contribute to risk and internal control awareness initiatives.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across the function.
- Liaise with relevant stakeholders across the 3 lines of defense, including EPI SE Compliance Officer, EPI SE Business Continuity Manager, and EPI SE Chief Risk & Compliance Officer.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in Risk Management or Internal Control, ideally within Payments, Banking, or FinTech.
- Good understanding of risk management frameworks (e.g., COSO) and the Three Lines of Defense.
- Experience working with senior stakeholders (Compliance, Operations, IT Security, etc.).
- Prior experience preparing risk dashboards, reports, and board-level summaries.
- Familiarity with regulatory environments.
- Experience with Jira.
- Thrive in a remote-first, multicultural environment.
