About the Role
BerlinRosen is seeking an Account Director to join our Impact Team to lead strategy and manage account teams advancing fights in areas including workers’ rights, racial justice and equity, economic justice, gender justice and environmental justice. This role offers an exciting opportunity to advance change through communications campaigns and mission-driven work.
Responsibilities
- Lead strategic conversations and advance the communications strategy for multiple high-profile client accounts to deliver results.
- Develop and oversee integrated campaigns leveraging public affairs, earned media, paid media, and digital tactics.
- Directly manage and mentor staff, providing strategic direction and feedback for their development and client work.
- Collaborate with the Impact management team to develop and inspire innovative and creative strategists.
Requirements
- 6+ years of relevant experience in political campaigns, Capitol Hill, Executive Branch agencies, major City/State government, strategic communications, media relations, advocacy, journalism, or a related field.
- Avid consumer of news with strong political news sense and media knowledge.
- Experience engaging and maintaining strong relationships with key reporters covering politics, health, labor and economic justice, philanthropy, racial and gender equity, reproductive rights, immigrant rights, climate change, and more.
- Experience engaging with media for both rapid response and long-lead stories.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to multitask, work quickly, meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment, and pay close attention to details.
- Personal commitment to and knowledge of social justice.
- Understanding of organizing and advocacy communications, including social media campaigning, paid media campaigns, writing for the web, and engaging with local, state, or national politics.
- Experience in successfully motivating, leading, and mentoring a diverse team to meet objectives.
