About the Role

We are seeking a Paralegal to assist attorneys in all phases of litigation. Candidates must be eager to learn, organized, and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide insurance defense litigation support.
  • Review case assignments and examine claim documents, pleadings, and supporting records for consistency, legal sufficiency, and relevant deadlines.
  • Manage calendars for assigned caseloads.
  • Coordinate with support services, opposing law firms, and courts.
  • Draft legal documents, including pleadings, discovery demands/responses, notices, affidavits, subpoenas, RJIs, and other routine legal documents, for attorney review.
  • Prepare motions and identify exhibits.
  • Handle document productions and redactions.
  • Prepare witness/exhibit lists and trial binders.
  • Manage retention of expert witnesses, prepare expert indexes, and handle production of records.
  • Organize and maintain case files, including electronic files and document management systems.
  • Perform e-filing and e-service in State and Federal courts.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of prior paralegal experience.
  • Computer proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, Excel & Adobe Acrobat.
  • High proficiency in typing with excellent grammatical accuracy.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge and understanding of legal terminology and procedures.
  • Proficiency in drafting legal documents.
  • Proficiency with electronic filings in State and Federal Courts.
