About the Role

Join our Client Accounting Services (CAS) Team for a role offering variety, flexibility, and meaningful client work. This position allows you to advance your experience with exciting projects and a diverse client base, collaborating with professionals at all levels. We are seeking accounting professionals with nonprofit experience to support this client group, offering both full-time and part-time opportunities with a hybrid work model.

Responsibilities

  • Perform project-based accounting work for various local clients.
  • Assist with recording and posting journal entries, performing month-end close processes, A/P, A/R, payroll, and preparing bank reconciliations.
  • Prepare a full accrual, month-end close.
  • Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close and financial information reporting.
  • Analyze the general ledger process, identify, clean up, and resolve irregularities to ensure accurate financial statements.
  • Communicate reporting and compliance requirements with client internal departments, providing quality service and maintaining client satisfaction.
  • Assist clients with their financial statement reporting processes, including cash flow and disclosures.
  • Assist with and maintain clients' annual operating plans/budgets.
  • Coordinate accounting efforts with external auditors, tax preparers, supervise staff, and communicate regularly with owners and financial institutions.
  • Review operational, financial, and technological processes to assess business risk, internal control, and overall process effectiveness and efficiency.
  • May be involved with establishing or upgrading accounting ledgers or systems for clients.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Accounting required; Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred.
  • Minimum of four years of accounting experience as an Accountant/Senior Accountant in a nonprofit organization or supporting nonprofit clients in public accounting.
  • Formal bank/account reconciliation and month-end close experience required.
  • Supervisory skills and strong accounting system experience are a plus.
  • Experience with QuickBooks Online, Intacct, and Bill.com is strongly preferred.
  • Effective communication, relationship building, and consulting skills are necessary.
  • Must be able to meet deadlines, be initiative-taking, and have solid multi-tasking skills.
  • Possess strong analytical skills and solid business knowledge related to operations and procedures.
  • CPA or CMA is a plus but not required.
