About the Role
We are looking for an exceptional QA Automation Engineer to join our fast-growing engineering team. You will lead a small but high-leverage QA function on a team where every engineer owns the quality of their own work. You will design and own the automated testing framework, the CI pipeline, and the AI-assisted tooling that lets the whole team ship with confidence. This is a high-ownership role at the intersection of testing, developer experience, and AI tooling.
Responsibilities
- Own, evolve, and continuously improve the automated test framework.
- Design and build end-to-end and integration tests for complex, cross-cutting flows.
- Pair with and coach engineers on test design for larger features.
- Build out continuous testing in CI, including quality gates.
- Lead the integration of AI-powered testing tools and background agents into the pipeline.
- Establish testing patterns for non-deterministic features.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in software engineering, with substantial focus on test automation and CI infrastructure.
- Strong proficiency with Python (pytest, async) and TypeScript (Playwright or equivalent end-to-end framework).
- Deep CI/CD experience on a modern platform (GitHub Actions or similar).
- Hands-on experience using AI coding agents like Cursor or Claude Code.
- Proven experience testing distributed, asynchronous, eventually-consistent systems.
