About the Role
The Financial Reporting Associate 2 is responsible for preparing financial statements and regulatory reporting outputs for Australian clients, including superannuation funds, managed investment schemes, and investment entities. The role supports APRA regulatory reporting, AASB/IFRS-compliant financial statements, and audit/client reporting cycles.
Responsibilities
- Prepare financial statements in accordance with AASB/IFRS
- Draft disclosures (fair value, financial instruments, investment entities)
- Perform GL review and reconciliations
- Prepare APRA returns (SRF 550/552/553/320/330/720)
- Reconcile APRA returns to financial statements
- Perform data validation and consistency checks
- Maintain reporting documentation
- Manage deadlines and reporting timelines
- Coordinate with accounting, tax and other internal teams
- Investigate discrepancies and resolve issues
- Analyse differences between GL, FS, and APRA returns
- Prepare audit working papers
- Respond to auditor queries
- Address client comments
- Execute reporting checklists
- Maintain audit-ready documentation
- Ensure compliance with internal controls
- Use reporting systems (e.g., FundSuite ARC, ESP)
- Identify automation opportunities
- Support A1 staff
- Contribute to team improvements
Requirements
- 1–3 years experience in financial reporting or fund accounting
Skills
- Knowledge of AASB/IFRS
- APRA reporting knowledge desirable
- Strong Excel and analytical skills
- Strong communication and stakeholder management
Experience Level
- Associate 2
Education Level
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance
- CA/CPA (or working towards) preferred
