About the Role

We are seeking a senior editor to lead a team of reporters covering the business, risk, and strategic priorities of corporate legal departments, particularly within highly regulated industries. This role is central to our mission of delivering strategic intelligence to in-house counsel, legal operations leaders, and their teams navigating complex regulatory and geopolitical environments. The ideal candidate is an externally facing leader who thrives on building market relationships, spotting emerging themes, and shaping coverage that helps corporate legal leaders make smarter decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of US reporters focused on the business operations, risk posture, and strategic priorities of corporate legal departments.
  • Serve as an external ambassador for our platform—cultivating relationships with general counsel, legal operations executives, law firm leaders, consultants, and industry groups.
  • Guide reporters in producing high-impact content, including breaking intelligence, enterprise features, data-driven analysis, and investigative pieces.
  • Collaborate with product, data, and events teams to translate reporting into actionable intelligence tools, presentations, and market insights.
  • Represent the organization at industry conferences, moderate panels, and be a subject-matter expert around what you hear from in-house counsel.
  • Ensure editorial excellence, clarity, and strategic relevance across all coverage.
  • Drive a culture of sourcing and market engagement, ensuring reporters build deep, ongoing relationships with industry stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience editing or leading reporters in a business, legal, regulatory, or risk-focused environment.
  • Strong understanding of how corporate legal departments operate and interact with finance, compliance, technology, and the broader enterprise.
  • Proven ability to cultivate and maintain senior-level sources across the legal and corporate ecosystem.
  • Exceptional editorial judgment, with the ability to connect dots across regulation, litigation, geopolitics, technology, and corporate strategy.
  • Strong communication and interviewing skills, including comfort moderating panels or conducting public-facing conversations with executives.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, intelligence-driven environment where speed and depth both matter.
  • Experience in legal industry coverage, corporate governance, or risk reporting is a significant plus.
  • Must be highly organized, collaborative, and able to guide reporters through both quick-turn and long-form work.
  • At least 4–6 years of relevant editorial or reporting experience preferred.
  • Willingness to travel for industry events, source meetings, and market engagement.
