About the Role
The Barista plays a key role in delivering an exceptional member experience by preparing high-quality beverages, maintaining a welcoming café environment, and assisting with administrative and operational tasks. This role requires excellent customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a dynamic workspace.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee and tea beverages to members according to established recipes and quality standards.
- Maintain knowledge of coffee blends, brewing techniques, and industry trends to provide recommendations to members.
- Operate and maintain espresso machines, grinders, and brewing equipment.
- Ensure beverages are presented attractively and consistently.
- Capture photographs and content as required for company social media accounts to highlight café offerings and community engagement.
- Help the Community Associates in managing the location calendar, ensuring meeting rooms and onsite resources are scheduled appropriately.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date member database information.
- Support Community Associates, when needed, with mail handling; including sorting, delivering mail to offices, and scanning.
- Maintain and stock shared kitchen spaces and common areas, ensuring they remain clean and well-organized.
- Conduct regular inventory checks and coordinate procurement of café and kitchen supplies.
- Assist in general cleaning duties to maintain a tidy and hygienic workspace.
- Provide a warm, welcoming atmosphere for all members and guests, ensuring a high standard of customer service.
- Customize the café experience to meet individual member preferences.
- Engage with members to foster a sense of community and enhance their overall experience.
Requirements
- Previous barista or hospitality experience preferred.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on cleanliness and organization.
- Proficiency in scheduling tools and basic administrative tasks.
- Experience with inventory management and procurement is an asset.
- The ability to capture and create engaging social media content is a plus.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
- Flexible schedule may be required, including early mornings and occasional weekends.
