About the Role

Austin Children's Dentistry is seeking a Dental Assistant in Austin, TX to provide excellent patient care within a team-based environment. This role is integral to the care team, supporting dental staff with treatments and contributing to the mission of delivering exceptional dental care.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist dentists during procedures.
  • Welcome, comfort, and educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
  • Take and develop X-rays, assist with impressions, and maintain study models.
  • Ensure infection control protocols, maintain patient confidentiality, and follow workplace regulations.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, including scheduling and patient intake.
  • Manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, emergency drug and oxygen supply, and emergency telephone directory.

Requirements

  • One year or more of on-the-job experience with supporting documentation.
  • X-Ray certification.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA, CPR, and infection control training as required by law.

Skills

  • Nitrous Oxide certification is highly recommended.
