About the Role
Utilize your technical expertise and operational experience to support Navy and Defence during your transition to a life post service. As a Senior Maritime Warfare Instructor, you will mentor and develop future Royal Australian Navy Surface Warfare Officers, deliver advanced Navigation and Warfare training, and instill professional standards.
Responsibilities
- Deliver advanced Navigation and Maritime Warfare instruction.
- Mentor and assess Junior Warfare Officers throughout their training.
- Deliver training across classroom and bridge simulation environments.
- Contribute to course development and continuous improvement.
- Maintain contemporary knowledge of Navy tactics, techniques and procedures.
- Work collaboratively with Navy and Serco stakeholders to maintain high training standards.
- Participate in rostered training activities where required.
Requirements
- Experience as a Principal Warfare Officer or Navigating Officer aboard a Frigate or Destroyer (or Commonwealth equivalent).
- Completion of the Principal Warfare Officer Course, Surface Combatant Navigation Course or equivalent Commonwealth qualification.
- Approximately 12 months' experience in one of these operational appointments within the last five years.
- Strong communication and mentoring skills.
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain an NV1 Defence Security Clearance.
