About the Role
The Media Planner is responsible for the tactical communications planning process, providing strategic recommendations to senior media teams and clients. This role requires a strong understanding of the Canadian media landscape and proficiency in media planning and research tools. The Media Planner will actively contribute to client accounts, driving ideas and insights to achieve objectives.
Responsibilities
- Supports the media planning and buying process for assigned client accounts by translating client briefs into actionable plans.
- Develops strategic communications plans using media planning tools, ensuring alignment with execution strategy, rationale, and buy structure to meet campaign goals.
- Collaborates with creative agencies on holistic brand management and marketing planning, including new product development, positioning, segmentation, creative execution, message distribution, measurement, and optimization.
- Supports recommendations for buy structures that identify optimal media environments for target audiences, maximizing value and efficiency.
- Assists in preparing reporting documentation for media planning teams and clients, detailing the strategy and rationale behind executed campaigns.
- Works with Traffic Launch and Campaign Delivery teams to ensure seamless implementation of media plans.
- Contributes to overall campaign strategy and identifies opportunities for improvement and optimization to meet client goals.
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of media planning and/or buying experience across All Channels (Video, Display, Social, Programmatic, Broadcast, Print & Out of Home).
- Knowledge and hands-on experience with media planning and buying tools.
- Strong to advanced MS Office skills, including Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs), Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and multiple stakeholders.
- Aptitude for priority management when handling multiple deliverables and work streams.
- Ability to organize ideas and present information logically and sequentially.
