About the Role

We are looking for a seasoned, high-energy bartender with excellent communication skills to serve classical cocktails and exciting new beverages to our guests. The Bartender will greet guests, learn about their preferences, answer questions, recommend menu items, and prepare and serve beverages and food. You will also upsell items, create recipes, utilize proper equipment and ingredients and handle basic cleaning duties.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome customers, listening to people to determine beverage preferences, making recommendations, and taking drink orders
  • Plan drink menus and inform customers about new beverages and specials
  • Select and make ingredients, garnish glasses, and serve beverages to customers
  • Check identification to ensure customers are of legal age to purchase alcohol
  • Adhere to all food safety and quality regulations
  • Handle cash, credit, and debit card transactions, ensuring charges are accurate and returning correct change to patrons, balancing the cash register
  • Maintain exceptional service levels
  • Strive for sales growth by having ongoing knowledge of all current menus
  • Be perceptive, proactive, and engaging, anticipating guest needs
  • Set the tone for success with a positive attitude and sincere enthusiasm
  • Engage in clear, consistent communication with leadership and restaurant staff
  • Ensure each customer is served efficiently and effectively
  • Be a good example while working alongside team members
  • Communicate restaurant and hotel promotions, local attractions, and points of interest

Requirements

  • High levels of patience, tact, and diplomacy
  • Strong organizational, prioritization skills and ability to work well under pressure

  • Written communication in a clear and concise manner
  • Exude high energy and demonstrate a knack for building rapport with guests and colleagues
  • Exhibits organizational abilities and shows a natural skill for multi-tasking, prioritizing, and anticipating needs
  • Fluency in English both verbally and non-verbally
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of guest information and pertinent Hotel data
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill necessary tasks
  • Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 25lbs on a regular and continuing basis
  • Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours in length
  • Demonstrate strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Must know how to prioritize, delegate and respond in a timely fashion
  • Must be able to work under pressure, multi-task, and stay focused with constant interruptions
  • Understanding of hotel operations, food and beverage knowledge, steps of service, and cash management as it pertains to the selling of food and beverage
  • Any other duties assigned by the manager
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill necessary tasks
  • Must be able to lift 30lbs
  • Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours in length
  • Employees may be required to work varying schedules (including Holidays and weekends) to reflect the business needs of the hotel
