About the Role

Uber Boat by Thames Clippers (UBTC) is experiencing significant growth and is seeking to add an Exclusive Café Bar at Embankment Pier. This role is ideal for servicing commuters, local offices, and theaters.

Responsibilities

• Produce and deliver drinks and food in line with brand standards, recipes, and legal requirements.
• Accurately record all transactions and minimize stock loss.
• Provide world-class customer service, proactively offering information.
• Prepare and serve food and beverages according to brand guidelines.
• Clear tables and clean food surfaces regularly to maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
• Operate the dishwasher to ensure an ample supply of glassware, crockery, and service utensils.
• Follow food hygiene and safety procedures.
• Sell alcohol responsibly in line with licensing requirements.
• Greet customers warmly and ascertain their food and drink requirements.
• Process all sales through the EPOS system and ensure full payment.
• Maximize sales profitability by offering suitable add-ons.
• Minimize losses by taking reasonable steps to prevent stock loss, theft, or damage.
• Collaborate with the facilities team to follow daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning programs.
• Monitor and replenish stock, ensuring appropriate displays of food, beverages, and merchandise.
• Report feedback, complaints, suggestions, stock requirements, breakages, faults, or hazards to the line manager.
• Participate in monthly drills for emergency preparedness and maintain accurate logs.

Requirements

• Act as a role model and champion of company values, integrating them into local processes.
• Assist in developing and maintaining effective teamwork.
• Ensure speedy and accurate communication of relevant information.
• Undergo specialist courses to enhance experience for private or corporate events.
• Undertake any other relevant duties or reasonable requests from senior management.
• Ability to work flexible hours and shifts, including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and bank holidays.
• Contribute to a positive work environment.
• Be punctual and maintain regular and consistent attendance.

Skills

• Previous relevant working experience within a Customer / Food Service environment
• Genuine desire and ability to work with the public in a front-line, customer-focused environment
• Commitment to working to high standards and providing the highest level of visitor care
• Team player with a flexible, positive, and committed attitude to work
• Ability to multitask in a very busy environment, remaining organized and patient under pressure
• Food hygiene certificate – Level 2 (Desirable)
• Knowledge of the Thames and surrounding areas / attractions (Desirable)
