About the Role

This role involves litigating cases and advising employers on compliance with wage and hour laws, focusing on claims under the Fair Labor Standards Act and New York Labor Law. The position is based in our New York City office.

Responsibilities

  • Litigate cases involving a broad range of employment-related claims, focused on claims under the Fair Labor Standards, New York Labor Law and/or other state wage and hour laws
  • Represent employers in court, before administrative agencies, at mediations, and in arbitration in employment matters, including class/collective actions, focused on wage claim and hour cases
  • Advise employers regarding compliance with wage and hour laws and related risk management, including dispute resolution programs

Requirements

  • JD from an ABA accredited law school, with excellent academic credentials
  • 3+ years of experience
  • Employment law background strongly preferred
  • Current NY Bar admission or ability to obtain admission
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Attention to detail and commitment to excellence
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational, time management, and project management skills
  • Commitment to professionalism, collegiality, and teamwork, along with ability to work independently on various projects
  • Class/collective action experience strongly preferred
