About the Role
As part of HDR’s Building Engineering Services Group, you’ll help design the critical infrastructure that supports the digital age and shapes the spaces where people work, connect, and thrive. This role focuses on developing training materials for automation tools, leading training sessions, and working with users to identify automation and AI opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Develop training materials for automation tools
- Lead virtual and in-person training sessions across Central Texas offices
- Work directly with users across business groups to identify opportunities for automation and AI
- Communicate ongoing technology updates from corporate technology to local users
- Scope automation and AI initiatives with Business Class Leadership and Operational Leadership
- Develop and execute software testing strategies and plans, ensuring quality assurance and validation of digital tools
- Translate user needs into clearly defined problem statements, pilot scopes, test cases, and adoption plans
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering
- Experience supporting or leading the development of enterprise-level applications, applying modern software practices to deliver reliable, high-quality solutions
- Experience with Autodesk Revit and related design workflows
- Demonstrated experience defining and implementing software testing frameworks, including test strategy, standards, and validation processes across multiple tools or projects
- Experience driving technology adoption at scale, including rollout planning, user engagement, and measuring success through usage metrics
- Experience serving in a product owner or product manager role, including backlog prioritization and aligning development with user needs
- Experience developing and delivering training programs with a focus on driving adoption and embedding tools into daily workflows
- Experience using tools such as Power BI to track adoption, performance, and key usage metrics
- Experience evaluating or implementing AI and automation tools through pilots, working sessions, or structured deployment efforts
- Associate's degree in engineering or related field of study or equivalent work experience
- A minimum of 5 years of engineering experience in the discipline to be supported
- Aptitude and demonstrated hands-on experience with computer applications specific to the discipline to be supported
- Knowledge of industry standards specific to the discipline being supported
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
