About the Role

La Scuola International School is seeking an Early Childhood Educator to implement the IB-PYP Early Years Curriculum within the Reggio Emilia philosophy. This role involves teaching preschool children ages 2-5 in both Italian and English, developing age-appropriate curriculum, and setting educational goals. The educator will also be responsible for ongoing assessment and documentation of student progress and communication with faculty and parents.

Responsibilities

Implement the IB-PYP Early Years Curriculum within the Reggio Emilia philosophy
Teach Preschool children ages 2-5 content encompassing music, movement, dramatic play, expressive arts, social-emotional skills, language and communication, listening, pre-literacy, pre-math, pre-science concepts, and motor coordination
Deliver instruction in both Italian and English
Develop age-appropriate curriculum that adapts to evolving class interests, including daily plans and long-term projects
Set educational and developmental goals for children, both individually and as a group
Conduct ongoing assessment and documentation of group dynamics and individual developmental progress
Communicate with faculty and teachers regarding student development, curriculum, and other important information
Conduct parent conferences and participate in school events

Requirements

Must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Education, Child Development, Educational Sciences or a closely related field (or foreign equivalency)
24 months of experience teaching early childhood education
Proficiency in Italian Language
Able to occasionally lift up to 30 pounds
Requires DOJ Livescan clearance
Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Must provide documentation to prove eligibility to work in the United States
Must pass Criminal Justice Department and Federal Bureau of Investigation Fingerprint Clearance
Must pass a physical exam
Must provide a recent copy of a negative TB test/assessment and other immunization records
