About the Role
Represent commercial insureds of a leading global insurance carrier, managing moderate to high-exposure General Liability cases from investigation through trial. Handle all phases of insurance defense litigation, including legal analysis, pleadings, discovery, hearings, trials, settlement strategy, and post-trial activities.
Responsibilities
- Manage moderate to high-exposure General Liability cases from investigation through trial.
- Handle all phases of insurance defense litigation, including legal analysis, pleadings, discovery, hearings, trials, settlement strategy, and post-trial activities.
- Manage caseloads, budgets, exposure analysis, billables, and diary review independently.
- Mentor, lead, and support the broader staff counsel function.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor and 7 or more years of litigation experience.
- Active member of the Texas State Bar in good standing.
- Experience with Microsoft Office, Adobe, Lexis, or Westlaw.
- Knowledge of insurance defense litigation, claims, and the insurance industry.
- Relevant first-chair jury trial experience.
- Strong legal analysis, negotiation, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage caseloads, budgets, exposure analysis, billables, and diary review independently.
- Collaborative team mindset with the ability to mentor, lead, and support the broader staff counsel function.
