About the Role

The Latham MR Magnets facility manufactures and develops Magnetic Resonance Imaging magnets and other superconducting products for Philips and its customers. This role involves performing precise, high-quality TIG welds on aluminum and stainless steel, operating an automated welding cell, and fabricating intricate assemblies for cryogenic applications.

Responsibilities

• Perform precise high-quality TIG welds on aluminum and stainless steel.
• Operate and oversee a robotic welding system.
• Set up, monitor, and adjust automated welding equipment.
• Perform routine maintenance on welding equipment.
• Cut, bend, drill, tap, and fabricate intricate assemblies for cryogenic applications.
• Read and understand drawings and supporting documents.
• Use precision instruments.
• Operate bridge cranes and forklift trucks.
• Read and write to follow documentation assembly procedures and sign off documentation.

Requirements

• 1+ years of welding experience.
• Experience using mechanical assembly tools.
• Ability to perform excellent vacuum leak tight TIG welds on aluminum.
• Must be able to successfully perform minimum Physical, Cognitive and Environmental job requirements with or without accommodation.
• US work authorization is a precondition of employment.
• Must reside in or within commuting distance to Latham, NY.
