About the Role
The Latham MR Magnets facility manufactures and develops Magnetic Resonance Imaging magnets and other superconducting products for Philips and its customers. This role involves performing precise, high-quality TIG welds on aluminum and stainless steel, operating an automated welding cell, and fabricating intricate assemblies for cryogenic applications.
Responsibilities
- Perform precise high-quality TIG welds on aluminum and stainless steel.
- Operate and oversee a robotic welding system.
- Set up, monitor, and adjust automated welding equipment.
- Perform routine maintenance on welding equipment.
- Cut, bend, drill, tap, and fabricate intricate assemblies for cryogenic applications.
- Read and understand drawings and supporting documents.
- Use precision instruments.
- Operate bridge cranes and forklift trucks.
- Read and write to follow documentation assembly procedures and sign off documentation.
Requirements
- 1+ years of welding experience.
- Experience using mechanical assembly tools.
- Ability to perform excellent vacuum leak tight TIG welds on aluminum.
- Must be able to successfully perform minimum Physical, Cognitive and Environmental job requirements with or without accommodation.
- US work authorization is a precondition of employment.
- Must reside in or within commuting distance to Latham, NY.
