About the Role
The Mobile Cleaner II is responsible for performing cleaning tasks in designated areas of buildings, including sanitizing and specialty cleaning services at various client and company locations. This role focuses on enhancing tenant and customer satisfaction, maintaining positive relations, and ensuring compliance with environmental, health, and safety policies.
Responsibilities
- Perform recurring cleaning tasks to maintain general cleanliness and hygiene in facilities.
- Empty containers, replace liners, and consolidate garbage in designated areas.
- Sweep hard surface floors and vacuum carpeted areas.
- Mop hard floor surfaces with appropriate cleaning solutions.
- Dust horizontal surfaces such as desks, shelves, and countertops.
- Perform spot cleaning of high-touch surfaces.
- Tidy and reset furniture in meeting rooms, lobbies, and open areas.
- Dust and wipe light covers and housings.
- Sort and organize recyclables and garbage for disposal.
- Perform exterior litter pick up and remove large debris.
- Clean interior-facing glass surfaces.
- Vacuum and steam clean entrance mats.
- Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of restrooms, including restocking consumables.
- Perform specialized cleaning tasks such as exterior glass cleaning, high-pressure cleaning, floor finishing, and deep carpet steam cleaning.
- Clean fabric-covered chairs and couches.
- Clean acoustic ceiling tiles.
- Clean and sanitize grills or Pedimat.
- Brush and wipe down accessible HVAC vents and air returns.
- Clean, sanitize, and restore contaminated work areas using approved disinfectants and biohazard procedures.
- Perform water extraction for emergency flood or leaks.
- Clean stairwells and elevators, using ladders as required.
- Remove snow debris from sidewalks, driveways, or parking lots.
- Complete site evaluations and Quality Assurance Inspections.
- Inspect fire extinguishers and sign tags and forms.
- Inspect lights and report any needing repair.
- Perform general repairs and installations of dispensers.
- Change light bulbs as per contract.
- Report any deficiencies to the Facility Manager.
- Deliver machinery, equipment, and supplies between locations.
- Take before and after photos of completed work and document using Clear site.
Requirements
- Must be able to work day or night shifts.
- Must be available for on-call/standby and emergency call-outs.
- Must be able to answer phone calls/emails after work hours.
- Ability to carry out repetitive work.
- Ability to lift over 35 pounds.
- Willingness to wear Personal Protective Equipment.
- Ability to drive to and perform work at multiple sites.
- May be required to follow rotating shifts and be on call.
- Must meet security clearance requirements, where applicable.
- Must have a valid Class G license.
Skills
- 3-year minimum experience in industrial/commercial facility cleaning operations.
- Experience with cleaning machinery such as bonnet machines, carpet extractors, and auto scrubbers.
- Willingness to learn.
- Ability to work independently.
- Team player.
- Good verbal communication skills.
- Good writing skills.
- Ability to use technology such as tablets, phones, and computers.
- Positive attitude towards environment, health, and safety.
- Knowledge of national and industry codes and standards such as WHMIS.
