About the Role
San Juan Diego Catholic High School is seeking an Office/Health Assistant to support general office work and the health needs of students, fulfilling the mission of the Catholic school. This position involves decision-making within essential job functions in accordance with school policies and is overseen by the principal.
Responsibilities
- Supports and upholds the philosophy of Catholic education and the school's mission.
- Acts as a witness to Gospel values by modeling the teachings of the Catholic Church.
- Supports and adheres to the Code of Conduct and policies and procedures of the school and Diocese.
- Maintains confidentiality regarding school matters.
- Serves as receptionist, escorts students and visitors, and covers the telephone.
- Provides administrative support in maintaining health files, preparing handbooks, curriculum guides, emergency management manuals, student schedules, and student awards.
- Serves as contact for sick students and maintains medication and emergency contact information.
- Prepares and replenishes first aid kits and crisis boxes for classrooms and field trips.
- Maintains accurate attendance and lunch records.
- Prepares and distributes the weekly school newsletter.
- Maintains current and accurate records according to school policy.
- Communicates effectively within the school community.
- Meets staff development guidelines.
- Demonstrates professionalism in conduct, demeanor, and work habits.
- Maintains a work schedule that maximizes availability.
- Collaborates with peers to enhance the work environment and support planning.
- Supports oversight of lunch substitutions, lost and found, and replacement clothes.
- Supports the distribution of school orders and inventory.
Requirements
- Must submit an Ethics and Integrity in Ministry (EIM) Application for Ministry within the first week of employment.
- Must participate in an EIM Basic abuse prevention training workshop within 30 days of submitting a complete Application for Ministry.
- Must maintain EIM compliance during the entire term of employment.
- All employees must adhere to the Catholic Schools Standards of Conduct, the Diocese of Austin EIM policies, and the social, ethical, and moral teachings of the Roman Catholic Church.
- Texas is an “at-will” employment state.
