About the Role
As Senior Finance Manager, you will act as the right hand to the Finance Director, taking ownership of day-to-day financial leadership while shaping operational and commercial decision-making across the group. This role involves leading a team, strengthening controls, elevating reporting quality, and ensuring the business has the financial insight it needs to grow sustainably.
Responsibilities
- Partner with the Finance Director to shape and execute financial and operational plans.
- Lead the rollout and embedding of a robust standard costing model.
- Manage, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team.
- Oversee stock, WIP, and inventory accuracy across the group.
- Produce accurate monthly accounts by segment, including group consolidations and KPI packs for Board, Bank, and external stakeholders.
- Lead close processes and manage bank audit requirements.
- Enhance controls and ensure financial integrity across multiple entities.
- Build models and frameworks to support operational decision-making.
- Ensure compliance across excise, VAT, duty, and payroll tax.
- Drive efficiency, automation, and continuous improvement.
- Manage cost allocations, cost analysis, Capex reporting, and cashflow forecasting.
- Provide weekly insight into cash flow, accrued revenue, and debtors.
- Act as key finance lead for external auditors.
- Work closely with Commercial and Operations teams to deliver insight, challenge, and commercial value.
Requirements
- Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA).
- Track record of leading teams and delivering high-quality financial outputs in a fast-paced, multi-entity environment.
- Technical strength combined with commercial instinct.
- Ability to translate numbers into meaningful action for non-finance colleagues.
- Hands-on leader who enjoys developing people.
- Commercially minded with a solutions-focused approach.
- Confident influencing senior stakeholders.
- Strong in process, controls, and operational finance.
- Comfortable balancing detail with strategic thinking.
