Responsibilities

Operate MRI scanners to produce high-resolution diagnostic images.
Select appropriate imaging techniques based on physician orders and patient condition.
Evaluate own work before it reaches a radiologist.
Apply MRI safety protocols to every patient, scan, and shift.
Enforce MRI safety zones (Zone I through Zone IV) without exception.
Screen patients thoroughly.
Assess contrast contraindications carefully.
Monitor patients during procedures.
Respond with composure when unexpected situations arise.
Maintain proficiency in PACS and imaging software systems.
Ensure patient documentation is clean, complete, and current.
Manage own workflow.
Perform routine quality control checks.
Maintain equipment.
Adapt to changing protocols or patient needs during scans.
Provide full attention to patients, including correct and comfortable positioning.
Explain procedures in plain language.
Provide genuine calm to patients.
Provide compassionate care to a diverse patient population.
Mentor new staff and students.
Share knowledge and model best practices.

Requirements

ARRT-MR or ARMRIT certification required.
Valid state licensure current (where required).
Hands-on CPR/BLS certified and current.
Graduate of an accredited Radiologic or MRI Technology program.
1+ year of experience in a high-volume MRI environment preferred.
MRI safety zones and screening protocols second nature.
Proficiency in PACS and imaging software systems.
Confident in contrast administration and contraindication assessment.
Strong communication skills with patients, physicians, and teammates.
Calm under pressure and sharp under a deadline.
Willingness to mentor staff and students and contribute to a positive clinical culture.
