About the Role
Discord plays a uniquely important role in the future of gaming. The Developer Success team is building tools for game developers to harness the power of Discord within their games, fostering better and deeper relationships through gaming.
Responsibilities
- Building features for game developers across the Discord app, developer portal, APIs, realtime infrastructure, and Social SDK.
- Collaborating with other engineers to write, review, and ship elegant and scalable code.
- Owning projects end-to-end, from initial design through post-launch.
- Listening and working with game developer partners to understand their needs and improve features and tools.
- Working with product managers, designers, and partner managers to navigate ambiguity.
- Raising the quality bar of software through attention to detail.
Requirements
- At least 1-3 years of experience as a software engineer.
- Experience with game development.
- Familiarity with Unity and/or Unreal is a plus.
- Experience with parts of the tech stack: Python, Elixir, Rust, Typescript/React, or C++.
- Comfortable picking up new languages and learning new systems.
- A sense for product and design, with willingness to collaborate.
- A growth mindset, willingness to dive into new code, learn, and ask for help.
- Actively leverages AI coding tools to accelerate productivity.
- Experience with mobile development is a plus.
