About the Role

The Associate Buyer is responsible for maintaining accurate purchasing item data and supplier information. They ensure production teams receive necessary supplies and materials in a timely and cost-effective manner. This role involves partnering with other Buyers, leadership, and production teams to understand material needs and adjust procurement data, adhering to company policies.

Responsibilities

  • Work alongside other Buyers to understand commodity requirements for production lines and acquire needed materials from suppliers in a timely and cost-efficient manner.
  • Track purchases, monitor vendor quality, and maintain records of supplier performance and information.
  • Act as the primary point of contact with suppliers, addressing timing and quality issues.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with production and non-production teams to ensure timely provision of materials and production supplies.
  • Maintain supplier trackers outside of the Oracle database.
  • Maintain purchasing item data.
  • Maintain supplier catalog information.
  • Analyze purchasing data to identify trends and opportunities.
  • Understand and comply with all applicable Company policies and rules.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Operations or Supply Chain Management.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and team members, adjusting communication approaches based on the audience.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to complete activities with accuracy.
  • Good critical thinking and problem-solving skills and an ability to identify potential issues and seek support for resolution.
  • Ability to work in manufacturing and assembly environments.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products, including Outlook, and Excel.
