About the Role

We are hiring a Senior SCADA Integrator to lead full-lifecycle project delivery across system design, PLC/HMI programming, field commissioning, and ongoing support. WGI is a national engineering and professional services firm with a growing controls and automation practice, delivering turnkey SCADA and industrial controls solutions for water, wastewater, oil and gas, and municipal clients. The ideal candidate can operate independently across communications, integration, and electrical domains and is as comfortable in the field as they are in front of a workstation.

Responsibilities

  • Develop SCADA architecture, control panel designs, I/O lists, and control narratives for water/wastewater, industrial, and municipal systems
  • Specify hardware, software, and communications infrastructure; produce construction documents for permitting and construction
  • Program Allen-Bradley PLCs (ControlLogix, CompactLogix, MicroLogix) using Studio 5000, RSLogix 5000/500, and CCW
  • Develop HMI/SCADA applications in VTScada, Wonderware, FactoryTalk View, or Ignition
  • Configure ladder logic, function block, and structured text; document all logic for client turnover
  • Configure Modbus, EtherNet/IP, DNP3, RS-232/485, HART, and OPC-UA protocols
  • Integrate PLCs, VFDs, soft starters, pump controllers, and field instrumentation into SCADA systems
  • Commission fiber, cellular, and radio networks for remote site connectivity (GE MDS Orbit, FreeWave ZoomLink, Ubiquiti)
  • Program VFDs and soft starters; perform termination verification and loop checks from terminal block to device
  • Lead startup, commissioning, and acceptance testing; perform I/O checkout and systematic PLC logic debugging
  • Deliver ongoing technical support and maintenance services; serve as senior resource on maintenance contract engagements
  • Own projects from proposal through closeout; coordinate with WGI engineers, EPC partners, and panel shop resources
  • Contribute to proposal development, scope definition, and fee estimation for controls work

Requirements

  • 7+ years of hands-on SCADA and industrial controls experience with full-project ownership
  • Allen-Bradley PLC programming proficiency (Studio 5000 / RSLogix 5000 / RSLogix 500 / CCW)
  • HMI development experience in VTScada, Wonderware, FactoryTalk, or Ignition
  • Working knowledge of industrial communications protocols and network configuration
  • Field troubleshooting skills: point-to-point wiring, electrical diagnostics, PLC logic debugging
  • Valid driver's license; ability to travel to client sites throughout Texas and regionally
  • Ability to decipher and redline electrical schematics
  • OSHA 10 or 30 preferred
  • Tower climbing experience a plus (radio towers, elevated and ground storage tanks, standpipes)
  • Water, wastewater, or oil and gas SCADA experience
  • Panel shop coordination experience; familiarity with UL508A and NEC
  • Familiarity with IEC 61131-3 programming standards
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis. We are unable to sponsor or take over the sponsorship of employment visas
