About the Role

As a Data Engineer, you will analyze large volumes of business data to solve real-world problems and develop metrics that drive business insights. You will own large datasets, implement critical data pipelines, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to automate and scale data analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and support analytical data infrastructure using modern data warehouse concepts.
  • Build and maintain scalable ETL processes for structured and unstructured data.
  • Optimize data storage and retrieval for performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency.
  • Manage AWS resources including EC2, S3, Glue, Lambda, APIs, IAM, and CloudWatch.
  • Extract, transform, and load data from diverse sources using SQL and AWS big data technologies.
  • Explore and implement new AWS technologies to increase efficiency.
  • Collaborate with Data Scientists and BIEs to adopt best practices in reporting and analysis.
  • Automate and simplify self-service reporting processes.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot internal reporting platforms and tools.
  • Interact with users to define report specifications.
  • Partner with Engineering to shape BI infrastructure and analytics platforms.
  • Contribute to the development of BI tools, skills, and organizational culture.
  • Write advanced SQL queries and Python code.
  • Collaborate on AI initiatives and align them with organizational goals.
  • Manage CI/CD pipelines and deployments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in data engineering or a related role.
  • Proficiency in AWS services: Glue, Lambda, S3, EC2, CloudWatch, and CloudTrail.
  • Experience with Dbt, Snowflake, SQL, Python, and Qlik.
  • Ability to write complex SQL queries, perform optimization, and conduct performance tuning.
  • Experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, Cassandra, or DynamoDB.
  • Strong programming skills in Python, Java, or Scala.
  • Experience with data processing frameworks like Apache Spark or Hadoop.
  • Experience with cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Knowledge of big data technologies including Kafka and HBase.
  • Familiarity with data orchestration tools like Apache Airflow.
  • Experience with data versioning and testing tools like DVC and dbt.
  • Understanding of data security practices including encryption, access controls, and data masking.
  • Ability to work in-person at the office during regular hours.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 25 lbs.
