About the Role
You will be responsible for the operational finance function from A to Z, including accounting, grant documentation, invoice management, and month-end closing. You will work directly with our Fractional CFO and report to the COO. This is a hands-on role where you will be the go-to person for all financial matters.
Responsibilities
- Financial accounting in DATEV, including booking or overseeing automated bookings.
- Manage the entire invoice and payment process: recording, categorizing, approving, and initiating payments.
- Financial documentation and reporting for public funding programs (e.g., IBB, PTJ, EU), including cost allocation, fund requests, and budget variance reports.
- Maintain the fixed asset register and depreciation planning in a CAPEX-intensive environment.
- Month-end closing activities: reconciliations, expense categorization, and cash flow input.
- Potentially manage payroll accounting.
- Develop and partially automate finance processes.
Requirements
- Completed training as a certified accountant (IHK) or equivalent qualification; alternatively, a business degree with at least 4 years of accounting experience.
- Proficiency in DATEV for independent bookkeeping.
- Solid knowledge of German Commercial Code (HGB); experience with annual financial statements is a plus.
- Experience with the financial processing of public funding programs (IBB, PTJ, EU) is a significant plus, but not mandatory.
- Very good German language skills (C2) and good English skills for internal communication.
- Startup mentality: adaptable and solution-oriented in a changing environment.
- Experience in payroll accounting is a plus.
