About the Role
Reporting to the Head of Japan, the VP will manage a portfolio of multi-asset class investments in Japan across various Keppel vehicles and mandates. This role is responsible for formulating and executing business plans, budgets, and asset management strategies to achieve performance targets and maximize investor returns. The individual will collaborate with team members in Japan and Singapore to ensure alignment with investment and asset strategies, and oversee timely and accurate reporting.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Head of Japan in developing and executing asset management strategies to achieve business and financial performance goals.
- Assist the Head of Japan in developing and executing value creation initiatives, including asset optimization and profit growth.
- Collaborate with the investment team to formulate and manage post-acquisition integration plans.
- Collaborate with the investment team to develop long-term asset strategies, including potential exit options.
- Provide input to project cash flow and fund life-cycle models.
- Work closely with investment, reporting, and finance teams.
- Manage all commercial, legal, and financial matters related to the assets, in coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including senior management of portfolio companies, property managers, design and construction firms, lenders, and tenants.
- Guide, mentor, and develop junior team members.
- Support other business analysis and reporting as required.
- Assist with other Keppel initiatives as needed.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of relevant real estate experience in the Japanese market, preferably in the office sector, and ideally in asset or property management.
- At least 3 years in a managerial role.
- Bilingual in native Japanese and fluent English (spoken and written).
- Highly analytical and numerate.
- Detail-oriented, organized, self-motivated, and capable of working independently and under pressure.
- Able to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities effectively in a dynamic environment.
- Creative thinker with a proactive mindset and a solutions-oriented approach.
Skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage, influence, and motivate.
- Strong financial modeling skills in Excel.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
