About the Role

Join an innovative project and actively shape the world of science. BRAIN (Berlin Research Area Information Network) is the high-speed data network for scientific and cultural institutions in Berlin. Our team is responsible for the operation, monitoring, and expansion of the network. Your area of work will be with our cooperation partner, Humboldt University of Berlin (HU Berlin), in their Computer and Media Service (CMS) in Adlershof.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in operating the VPN infrastructure and WLAN network at HU
  • 2nd/3rd Level Support VPN/WLAN/LAN
  • Create instructions for VPN and WLAN configurations
  • Support with project-specific tasks

Requirements

  • Studying, technically interested, and have initial experience with LAN/WLAN/VPN
  • Willingness to work independently
  • Interest in working with a ticket system
  • Ability to quickly learn new topics
  • Basic network knowledge
  • Manual dexterity (e.g., laying cables or installing devices)
  • Ideally, experience with scripting languages or LaTeX
