About the Role
This role involves embedding new systems and processes, requiring a practical, pragmatic, and commercially minded individual to collaborate with finance colleagues and manage external advisors. The position covers all global taxes except payroll and suits someone who enjoys variety, with operations in approximately 10 countries and revenue exceeding $1 billion. The group will be subject to CbCR and Pillar 2 requirements due to international expansion.
Responsibilities
- Support 3rd party advisors with the preparation and filing of the Group’s direct and indirect tax returns.
- Maintain the annual tax compliance calendar.
- Ensure all payments are made in a timely manner.
- Run all tax audits and respond to tax authority queries with the support of 3rd party advisors.
- Maintain the integrity of the tax accounts and provisions in financial statements and group accounts, and manage the year-end statutory audit for tax.
- Identify and understand changing global tax legislation and implement it for the Group.
- Work with the Interim Head of Tax to implement the Transfer Pricing policy, Pillar 2 requirements, and Country by Country reporting.
- Collaborate with the Interim Head of Tax on global advisory projects and tax-saving initiatives.
- Embed and maintain a suitable tax governance framework.
- Improve existing processes and embed new processes as required for accurate tax accounting and reporting.
- Support new system implementations to ensure tax requirements are appropriately identified and embedded.
Requirements
- Extensive experience in tax advisory and compliance gained either in-house or in practice.
- Strong knowledge of UK tax legislation, including VAT and corporation tax, with familiarity with international taxation.
- Recognised accountancy or tax qualification alongside degree-level education (or equivalent).
- Minimum five years post-qualification experience preferred.
- Experience engaging and influencing constructively with senior stakeholders.
- Strong communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences.
