About the Role
Alstom is seeking a full-time Head of Project Engineering Onboard Signalling (f/m/d) in Berlin to lead and develop a large engineering team, focusing on deploying cutting-edge engineering solutions within Railway safety systems and ensuring compliance with signalling strategy.
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the engineering team of 150-170 members, for projects in full compliance with the signalling strategy
- Responsible for the deployment of cutting-edge engineering solutions within Railway safety systems
- Define and implement the technical delivery plan for the site
- Ensure the application of methods and tools in the field of signaling technology and increasing efficiency
- Lead by example, by going the extra mile to deliver running projects
- Manage skills development plans with HR support
- Coordinate/allocate of technical resources to tenders and projects
- Manage, plan, monitor and report on the workload of project engineers in the field
- Support and lead the development of result-oriented working culture environment
- Collaborate with the organizations responsible for the platform/solution/design
- Assist the proposal team in defining the proposal strategy, technical solution, return on experience, process, and optimizations
- Participate in the main tender examinations for the tenders
- Responsible for technical negotiations with customers
- Represent Alstom Engineering on site in the local working groups for signalling technology or in tender or project meetings with customers
Requirements
- Degree in engineering or comparable (e.g. engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, railway technology)
- Several years of professional experience in project engineering management are mandatory
- Experience in the field of signalling technology, preferably onboard technology ETCS
- Experience in cost and planning control in the technical field
- PM certification desirable
- Very good teamwork and communication skills
- Fluent language skills in German and English are mandatory
