About the Role
FTI Consulting is seeking a Managing Director for its Valuations Advisory team. This role is integral to a fast-growing practice focused on providing valuations for various purposes including taxation, strategy, regulatory, M&A, accounting, and litigation. The position reports to the Senior Managing Director and focuses on engagement oversight, team development, business development, and practice growth.
Responsibilities
- Meet firm targets for new business origination.
- Develop market presence through thought leadership via publishing and speaking.
- Build client relationships with lawyers, accounting firms, and corporates.
- Promote FTI Consulting's other services through cross-selling.
- Manage realization rates, project margins, billings, and collections.
- Mentor directors, senior consultants, and consultants for succession planning.
- Assign staffing to maximize utilization and project efficiency.
- Drive a collaborative, ethical, and high-performance work environment.
- Serve as the final reviewer on valuation reports.
- Ensure adherence to APES, IVS, IFRS/AASB, and ASIC Regulatory guides.
- Manage engagement risk, conflict checks, and liability exposure.
Requirements
- Minimum 12–15+ years in business valuation or corporate finance, including experience in business and/or intangible asset valuations.
- Experience in writing reports.
- Excellent analytical and quantitative skills.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to handle and analyse complex financial information.
- Experience in leading small teams.
- Ability to work on multiple client matters at one time.
- Strong work ethic and integrity, and high level of professionalism.
- Willingness to travel for work.
