About the Role
Our AmLaw 100 client is hiring a senior associate to join its Data, Privacy, and Cybersecurity team, focused on privacy and cyber issues within high-value corporate and technology deals. The practice is Chambers-recognized and works closely with market-leading corporate and tech transactions teams.
Responsibilities
- Advise on the full range of privacy, data processing, and cybersecurity issues in corporate transactions.
- Conduct M&A diligence, risk allocation, and data-as-an-asset issues.
- Manage privacy and cyber diligence for public offerings and capital markets matters.
- Negotiate deal terms related to data rights, security obligations, incident history, and regulatory exposure.
- Work with companies in AI/ML, cloud, software, and fintech sectors.
Requirements
- 5+ years of relevant experience in M&A, capital markets, technology transactions, or transactional work with a privacy/cyber angle.
- Comfort drafting and negotiating deal terms tied to data rights, security obligations, incident history, and regulatory exposure.
- Experience with tech industry clients and regulatory policy/enforcement exposure is valued.
- JD from an ABA-accredited law school.
- Excellent writing skills.

- $260,000 - $365,000 base plus discretionary merit bonus
