About the Role

The PR Coordinator – Talent Operations will support the talent lead on the logistics for celebrity and notable runners, including all related communication, media interviews, race-week events, Expo/bib pickup, VIP experience, and supporting operations on race day. This role is seasonal, from September through early November, with an average of 30 hours per week, increasing during race week with potential overtime.

Responsibilities

  • Support Talent Operations Lead in operations surrounding celebrity runners.
  • Coordinate and schedule pre-race talent interviews with the NYRR PR team and external PR agency.
  • Assist with coordination of celebrity swag bags, including mailings and in-person delivery to Expo.
  • Support talent race bib/materials pickup and in-person delivery.
  • Provide onsite talent staffing and manage talent movements at race week events.
  • Assist in drafting and organizing internal and external materials for celebrity/notable runner logistics.
  • Manage guest ticketing requests and distribution.
  • Participate in meetings and walkthroughs with PR team, event leads, and PR agency.
  • Support other PR-related projects for specialty runners and guests.
  • Check-in celebrity/notable runners at the midtown bus loading location on race morning and escort them to the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge.
  • Escort and staff runners in/to the tent and support operations throughout the morning, coordinating with the PR agency team.
  • Escort runners to the Start line.
  • Assist with the transport of celebrity race-day baggage.
  • Ride the PR/Broadcast sprinter van to the Finish.
  • Support the organization of celebrity items from the Start and recovery items within the Celebrity/Notable Runners’ Finish tent.
  • Ensure the Finish tent is show-ready for runners.
  • Assist with tracking and escorting runners and coordinating photo-ops.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in Public Relations, production, and/or event operations required.
  • Experience working with celebrities/talent/principals is required.
  • Experience in events is required; large-scale events preferred.
  • Ability to work weekends and nights as required.
