About the Role

The Inventory Control Associate (ICA) plays a key role in supporting daily inventory workflows and physical stock accuracy. This hands-on position supports tasks such as auditing, labeling, sorting, kitting, replenishment, and event preparation. The role allows the ICA to learn, contribute, and grow within a highly collaborative environment focused on process excellence and operational readiness for NYRR’s large-scale event execution.

Responsibilities

  • Perform cycle counts, inventory audits, and storage bin reviews.
  • Assist in labeling, sorting, and location maintenance of incoming and outgoing inventory.
  • Prepare physical zones for receiving, stocking, and pick/pack activities.
  • Identify and report discrepancies to Inventory Control Specialists for follow-up.
  • Support kit assembly and supply staging for outbound events.
  • Replenish consumables, signage, and kitting components.
  • Assist in loadout support and return shipment processing post-event.
  • Use handheld scanners, PDAs, and WMS tools to complete tasks and log stock movements.
  • Follow instructions for accurate barcode scanning and data capture.
  • Maintain accountability for the physical handling and condition of warehouse materials.
  • Repair and assemble equipment as needed.
  • Receive daily task direction from Inventory Control Specialist(s).
  • Report task completions, blockers, or safety concerns to the ICS team and/or Director as needed.
  • Coordinate with warehouse staff to ensure process continuity.

Requirements

  • 1+ year in a warehouse, logistics, or inventory-related environment preferred.
  • Familiarity with inventory systems, event operations, or receiving a plus.
  • Ability to work occasional weekends or evenings.
  • All staff are required to work the NYC Half Marathon, Brooklyn Half Marathon, and the TCS NYC Marathon.
  • Operate heavy material equipment such as a forklift, pallet jack, and 1 person lift (or willingness to learn or obtain certification).
  • Willing to load and offload a truck using a liftgate.
  • Must be able to lift to 50 pounds unassisted.
  • Must be able to walk, bend, squat, twist, and lift without assistance.
  • Must be able to work in all season conditions (weather gear is provided).

Skills

  • Familiarity with ERP/WMS systems and inventory tracking software.
  • Applied use of tools such as RFID scanners, PDA, smartphones for daily business activities and communication.
  • Communicate in a professional manner with Internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook).
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Ability to speak Spanish language strongly preferred.

  • Warehouse in the Bronx, NY
