About the Role
We are seeking candidates interested in part-time or full-time paid internship opportunities starting in January 2027 in either Rochester or Ithaca, NY. The purpose of our internship program is to provide students the opportunity to fulfill tasks set out by various teams to gain valuable experience and insight into the everyday environment of a public accounting firm. The internship is a hands-on experience which will prepare you for a transition into your career.
Responsibilities
- Training on and becoming proficient in our audit software.
- Training on and becoming proficient with our fixed asset and depreciation software.
- Gaining a working knowledge of basic audit procedures and our standard audit practices working on commercial audit engagements as well as pension plan auditing or nonprofit/town/county/school district audits.
- Gaining a basic understanding of how audit work flows through the office.
- Gaining exposure to dealing with our client personnel.
- Improving basic organization and planning skills.
Requirements
- Accounting students currently enrolled in an undergraduate program (sophomore through senior year) or a graduate accounting degree program are eligible.
- Students must be returning to school to be eligible.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
- Strong organizational skills are required.
- Functional knowledge of the MS Office Suite including Word and Excel is required.
- Must be able to meet deadlines.
- Must be proactive.
- Must have solid multi-tasking skills.
- Must have strong analytical ability.
