About the Role

The Quality Assurance Inspector plays a pivotal role on the Quality team by inspecting materials, parts, and products for conformance to pre-defined specifications. This role is critical in ensuring quality manufacturing, reporting product defects, and contributing ideas to improve efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Conduct incoming quality control of parts and products ensuring compliance to applicable Engineering drawings, standards, and Armstrong specifications.
• Conduct pre-shipment quality control of Armstrong products to ensure they satisfy production order requirements and meet or exceed customer satisfaction.
• Inspect experimental parts and prototypes against engineering drawings and specifications using standard inspection tools like calipers, micrometers, and height gauges.
• Release Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) on found non-conformances in QA spreadsheet and LN10.7 with detailed root causes and effects of given dispositions.
• Maintain electronic records of all inspection results.
• Perform ad-hoc inspections relevant to customer service warranty issues.
• Attend and participate in daily QA meetings related to non-conformance reports (NCR), their dispositions, and Corrective Actions (CAR) reviews.
• Handle and segregate parts and products as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned based on personal skills, abilities, and needs.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
• Strong problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills.
• Working experience and basic comprehension of Quality Systems ISO 9001.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings with both dimensional and geometric tolerancing (GD&T).
• Strong sense of urgency in a time-sensitive working environment.
• Great team-oriented attitude, while capable of working independently.
• Strong verbal and written communication in English.
• Understanding and adherence to all health and safety policies, procedures, and regulations.
