About the Role

The Lead Software Engineer is a senior, hands-on individual contributor responsible for setting technical standards, owning complex architecture, and driving high-quality software delivery. This role focuses on daily production coding, technical mentorship, and leveraging AI-assisted development tools to build scalable, secure solutions across the full stack.

Responsibilities

  • Write, review, and ship production-quality code daily across the full stack.
  • Own complex, high-impact features from design through deployment and production support.
  • Debug and resolve complex production issues and performance bottlenecks.
  • Set standards for code quality, test coverage, and engineering rigor.
  • Develop responsive UI components using modern JavaScript frameworks.
  • Design and optimize database schemas and data access patterns.
  • Build observability into services including logging, monitoring, and alerting.
  • Drive architectural decisions regarding system design, APIs, microservices, and security.
  • Evaluate and advocate for new technologies and engineering best practices.
  • Act as a technical bridge between product, design, and engineering teams.
  • Leverage and promote the responsible use of AI-assisted development tools.
  • Mentor team members through pair programming, code reviews, and knowledge sharing.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies including standups and sprint planning.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation such as architecture decisions and runbooks.
  • Write and maintain automated unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of software engineering experience with deep expertise in full-stack development.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience operating at a lead or senior level.
  • Proven track record delivering in Agile environments with a strong command of the full SDLC.
  • Demonstrated experience architecting and delivering large-scale, cloud-based applications.
  • Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Salary/Compensations

  • $160,000 - $180,000 annually
