About the Role

Henry Ford Behavioral Health is seeking an ADON (RN) to join their growing facility. This state-of-the-art behavioral health hospital, a joint venture between Acadia Healthcare and Henry Ford Health System, provides compassionate, evidence-based mental healthcare in a modern, welcoming environment designed for holistic healing and recovery.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the DON to improve the quality of patient care and services.
  • Collaborate to ensure all patients’ physical, biopsychosocial, age, developmental, and cultural needs are met.
  • Oversee the nursing team in the absence of the DON, ensuring quality patient care, customer service, and compliance.
  • Assist DON/CNO with effective and efficient budget management.
  • Assist in managing the daily operations of nursing services.
  • Evaluate service needs and staffing requirements.
  • Role model customer service expectations and demonstrate urgency regarding patient safety.
  • Ensure nursing services comply with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
  • Provide staff management, including hiring, development, training, performance management, and communication.
  • Identify staff educational needs and develop training programs.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of organizational policies and procedures.
  • Develop and maintain documentation systems for continuity of care and record storage.
  • Intervene in crisis situations and investigate incidents.
  • Prepare reports on program, service, and quality initiative status.
  • Oversee nursing services documentation to ensure it meets all standards.
  • Provide direct patient care as needed.
  • Serve on committees as required.
  • Perform other assigned functions and tasks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing or higher strongly preferred.
  • Current registered nursing license in the state of the facility required.
  • 5+ years of experience as a registered nurse preferred.
  • Two years of registered nursing experience required.
  • Two years of experience in behavioral health as a Registered Nurse preferred.
  • One year of experience in a behavioral health/psychiatric/addiction recovery environment (inpatient or outpatient) or relatable experience required.
  • Prior experience as a nursing manager strongly preferred.
  • One year of progressive leadership or management experience required.
  • CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification required (training available upon hire).
  • First aid may be required based on state or facility.
