About the Role

This role serves as a subject matter expert in Microsoft Fabric and Azure data platform technologies, balancing strategic advisory with hands-on technical execution. You will design secure, scalable, and compliant data systems while collaborating with stakeholders to translate business requirements into cloud-native architectures.

Responsibilities

  • Design modern data platforms using Microsoft Fabric and Medallion architecture principles.
  • Translate business and technical requirements into scalable architectural blueprints.
  • Contribute to reference implementations and design pattern evaluations.
  • Act as a technical SME for client proposals, RFPs, and SOWs.
  • Support internal solution reviews and technical discovery sessions.
  • Lead the delivery of analytics platforms including ingestion, transformation, and modeling.
  • Develop pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Synapse, Fabric Dataflows, and Databricks.
  • Implement dimensional, canonical, and Data Vault models.
  • Provide expertise on CI/CD setup using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
  • Design secure architectures incorporating RBAC, encryption, and data protection.
  • Ensure compliance with standards such as HIPAA and GDPR.
  • Recommend MDM approaches and scalable data quality frameworks.
  • Advocate for DataOps principles and modular design patterns.
  • Tune SQL and Spark workloads for performance and cost-efficiency.
  • Provide guidance on Power BI dataset modeling and DAX development.
  • Document reusable patterns and best practices for internal knowledge sharing.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in Azure data architecture, analytics engineering, or solution development.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Fabric, Synapse, Data Factory, Databricks, and Power BI.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, and PySpark.
  • Proven ability to act as a technical SME in client and internal settings.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Experience with Data Modeling and ETL Design.
  • Familiarity with Big Data technologies including Hadoop, Kafka, and Spark.
  • Experience with cloud platforms including Azure, AWS, GCP, Snowflake, DynamoDB, Redshift, and Big Query.
  • Proficiency in SQL and NoSQL databases including PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MongoDB.
  • Understanding of data governance, security, and compliance standards.
  • Must obtain Microsoft Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate certification within 90 days.
  • Must obtain Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert certification within 90 days.
  • Must obtain Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Scientist Associate certification within 90 days.
