About the Role
The Data Scientist is an integral part of Latham’s Audit & Advisory team, responsible for advising on and constructing advanced analytics and data science models and insights throughout the firm. This role will work on data science and advanced analytics projects serving across functions, departments, and geographies.
Responsibilities
- Execute data science and advanced analytics solutions to address key business problems and drive actions for stakeholders.
- Aggregate data from various non-server-based sources, identify new sources, and streamline collection and processing.
- Apply knowledge of statistics, predictive modeling, and advanced mathematics to identify patterns, trends, and predict future outcomes.
- Summarize complex findings and advice for stakeholders with varying analytical knowledge levels.
- Promote effective work practices, teamwork, and respect for co-workers.
- Protect and maintain highly sensitive, confidential, privileged, financial, and proprietary information.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of advanced statistical techniques and predictive modeling, including proper applications and interpretations (e.g., clustering, regression analysis, random forest).
- Ability to accurately perform and comprehend results of advanced analytics and modeling techniques.
- Communicate data findings to senior management.
- Proficiency with Python.
- A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Data Science, Statistics, Math, Economics or related field.
- A minimum of three (3) years’ relevant work experience in data science, data consulting, or applied statistics.
