About the Role

Join Colliers Project Leaders as a Team Lead in our Toronto team, where you will lead business growth and diversification. Your mission is to foster an environment of business growth and employee empowerment by inspiring and motivating team members, delegating work, and nurturing professional development. You will ensure quality, manage finances, and cultivate a culture of belonging and empowerment, making a lasting impact on communities through projects in healthcare, housing, education, and transit.

Responsibilities

  • Champion and personify company values and culture.
  • Demonstrate an entrepreneurial mindset with a track record of developing and executing growth plans.
  • Oversee business unit operational objectives, including quality, commercial/financial, people, and culture.
  • Drive collaboration, identify opportunities, and develop innovative strategies to expand services in the local market.
  • Collaborate with leaders from other business units to secure new opportunities and optimize resource allocation.
  • Lead with enthusiasm, delegate, and empower teams.
  • Coach team members on business development acumen.
  • Support team members' professional growth through necessary qualifications, training, and experience.
  • Participate in the local business community through networking and active participation to grow the business and recruit talent.

Requirements

  • A strong desire to grow the business presence in the local market and meet company growth targets.
  • A minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in operations leadership and business unit growth, preferably in professional services.
  • A university degree or diploma in business administration, commerce, finance, engineering, architecture, construction management, or comparable degree (or an equivalent combination of academic and practical experience).
  • Clear understanding of a professional services business model, including workforce composition, resource management, risk management, and commercial strategies.
  • A network of industry contacts and relationships within the region, with involvement in applicable regional industry and trade associations.
  • Ability to provide leadership, inspiration, guidance, and management support to a team.
  • Ability to meet or exceed financial business objectives.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.
  • The ability to project and maintain a positive outlook, demonstrate an energetic disposition, and mentor teams.
  • Demonstrated experience working respectfully in cross-cultural settings, including building and maintaining relationships with Indigenous communities (considered an asset).
  • Formal background and reference checks are required prior to hiring.
