About the Role

As part of the Business Analytics team, the Analyst, Business Intelligence will play a key role in driving operational and financial performance across MLSE's venues and events portfolio. This role will partner closely with Venue Operations, Finance, Event Operations, Ticketing, Food & Beverage, Marketing, and Digital teams to develop data-driven insights that improve planning, operational efficiency, and business outcomes. The successful candidate will leverage advanced analytics, predictive modelling, AI, and customer intelligence to optimize venue performance, forecast operational requirements, and support strategic decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze operational, financial, and customer data across MLSE venues to identify opportunities to improve efficiency, profitability, and guest experience.
  • Leverage AI and ML techniques to support event planning, labour scheduling, staffing optimization, attendance forecasting, and revenue projections.
  • Evaluate the impact of different event types, attendance levels, scheduling decisions, and operational strategies on venue performance, costs, and resource requirements.
  • Partner with Venue Operations, Finance, Food & Beverage, Ticketing, Marketing, and other business stakeholders to provide actionable recommendations that improve planning and decision-making.
  • Build and maintain dashboards, scorecards, and reporting solutions that track key performance indicators related to venue operations, financial performance, labour efficiency, customer engagement, and event outcomes.
  • Apply AI and advanced analytics techniques to automate reporting, enhance forecasting accuracy, uncover operational insights, and support business strategy.
  • Leverage customer and fan data to better understand attendance behaviour, purchasing patterns, venue utilization, and customer preferences to inform business decisions and improve the overall fan experience.
  • Conduct scenario modelling and business case analyses to evaluate operational initiatives, investment opportunities, and strategic decisions.
  • Communicate complex analytical findings in a clear and compelling manner to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Champion a data-driven culture by helping business partners identify opportunities to use analytics, predictive modelling, and AI to improve outcomes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or graduate degree in business, statistics, data science, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in operations, ticketing, or data analytics, preferably in the sports or entertainment industry.
  • Experience using Databricks using SQL and Python to create data & ML pipelines, dashboards and AI Genie spaces
  • Experience and knowledge of modeling techniques (such as regression modeling, a/b testing, significance testing etc.) is required.
  • Experience with AI/ML techniques and practical business applications
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on operational and revenue optimization, labour planning, cost modelling, resource management strategies revenue management, and demand forecasting techniques.
  • Demonstrated experience and ability to manage complex projects with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to explain complex insights to a non-technical audience.
  • Experience in consulting or project management is considered an asset.
  • Passion for sports and a commitment to delivering exceptional fan experiences.
  • Collaborative, team-oriented attitude with a strong work ethic.
