About the Role
Kestra is seeking a talented and motivated Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join our dynamic Advisor Platform Engineering team. In this role, you will safeguard the availability, performance, and scalability of our cutting-edge financial advisor platform — software that supports financial advisors and the Home Office staff who serves them — ensuring uninterrupted service delivery.
Responsibilities
- Monitor, maintain, and optimize Azure infrastructure to ensure the health, performance, availability, and capacity of IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS components.
- Implement, configure, and enhance monitoring, logging, and actionable alerting using Azure Monitor, Application Insights, and Log Analytics (KQL); define and refine SLIs and SLOs.
- Develop automation and tooling using scripting languages (PowerShell, Bash, Python) and potentially C#/.NET to eliminate toil, improve efficiency, and codify operational best practices.
- Participate in the 24x7 on-call rotation; contribute to incident triage, mitigation, root cause analysis, post-mortem processes, and implementation of preventive actions.
- Collaborate with software development, QA, and other technology teams throughout the application lifecycle to ensure reliability, scalability, and performance requirements are met.
- Contribute to capacity planning, load testing, and performance tuning initiatives, particularly across the .NET/React micro-service architecture.
- Create and maintain clear documentation for systems, processes, runbooks, and knowledge-base articles; mentor teammates on reliability concepts.
- Troubleshoot and support integrations with third-party systems via APIs, SSO implementations, and secure file transfer protocols.
- Identify opportunities and contribute to initiatives improving processes, automation, cost optimization, security posture, and overall engineering excellence.
- Stay current with emerging trends in cloud infrastructure, reliability engineering, and observability tooling; share insights with the team.
- Uphold core values (Make it Happen, One Team, Serve) in daily interactions and delivery commitments.
Requirements
- Typically 3-7 years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, Cloud Operations/Engineering, Systems Administration, or Software Engineering with a strong operational focus.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

- Proficiency with Azure monitoring tools (Azure Monitor, Application Insights, Log Analytics) and KQL, with a strong understanding of distributed tracing and log analysis.
- Solid scripting skills in PowerShell, Bash, or Python for automation.
- Experience with CI/CD concepts and tools, particularly Azure DevOps pipelines.
- Proficiency with Git workflows and platforms like Azure Repos or GitHub.
- Solid understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, TLS, load balancing, firewalls, VNETs).
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and ceremonies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills across complex, distributed systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
- Basic understanding or development experience with C#/.NET applications (desired).
- Experience with IaC tools like ARM templates, Bicep, or Terraform (desired).
