About the Role
The AEP Program Manager supports the school day and the operations of after-school and its activities for K-8 students. This role is responsible for supervising students, ensuring their safety and well-being, and overseeing daily program operations, including curriculum design, administrative support, and staff training. The Program Manager also assists during the school day with recess and lunch supervision, fostering a safe, inclusive, and enriching environment.
Responsibilities
- Supervise students and ensure behavior aligns with school expectations.
- Ensure daily program execution, including sign-in, dismissal, and staff supervision.
- Foster a supportive and accountable classroom culture using clear expectations and restorative practices.
- Develop and lead after-school curriculum and enrichment activities.
- Monitor and support staff in student supervision across various school areas.
- Assist in developing training for part-time and summer staff.
- Communicate effectively with parents, families, and staff.
- Lead daily community snack time circles.
- Manage classroom and play space setup and cleanup.
- Support school day duties such as lunch, recess, and classroom tasks.
- Maintain consistent attendance.
- Assist with administrative duties as assigned.
- Establish and uphold classroom norms, expectations, systems, and routines.
- Adapt teaching methods to meet diverse student needs.
- Establish professional relationships with families and provide timely feedback.
- Maintain regular and open communication with parents/guardians via in-person, email, or phone within 24-48 business hours.
- Collaborate with colleagues to fulfill the School's Mission and Values.
- Attend and participate actively in meetings and faculty workdays.
- Attend school assemblies, gatherings, and functions.
- Participate in school committees and fulfill assigned tasks.
- Perform duties designated by the Lower School Head.
- Complete all required administrative tasks accurately and timely.
- Remain on campus during work hours and sign out with supervisor permission.
- Utilize HR platforms to request time off.
- Avoid scheduling absences on critical school days.
- Perform other duties requested by management.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Minimum of 3 years childcare experience; afterschool or summer camp experience preferred.
- Management experience.
- Experience working with a wide range of students, teachers, and families of diverse backgrounds.
- Experience with Google Suite (Google Calendar, Google Docs, file management).
- Solid experience with educational technology platforms.
- Experience with differentiated instruction and inclusive educational practices.
- Desire to continue learning in pedagogical practice and DEI.
- Commitment to professional growth and development.
- Familiarity with educational technology and innovative teaching methodologies.
- Strong work ethic, collaborative skills, flexibility, and sense of humor.
